TOOOPLE was established in 2016; the headquarters is situated in Singapore as TOOOPLE TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD as a For-Profit organization. The India office, TOOOPLE Digital Skills Pvt Ltd was established in 2017 in Hyderabad with branch offices in Hyderabad, Chennai and a state of the art Incubation Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (Kakinada – Andhra Pradesh).

ePortfolio:Authorized, validated repository of students’ accomplishments and certifications (in/extra-curricular, vendor) through their academic journey.
SmartStart:TOOOPLE SmartStart is a tool for students from educational institutions. They will be exposed to the latest technology trends and industry vocabulary that will help them prepare for their industry career and acquire appropriate skills using SkillAug. For the organisations, it will also help to improve the performance of their Entry level employees.
SkillAug: Develop industry related virtual projects under mentorship to showcase to potential employers aimed at traditional and digital campus recruitments, and to further their formal education globally. It also provides virtual mentoring on projects and curriculum mapping to industry.
JobMatch:This key feature provides individual TOOOPLE enrolled students receive dashboard listing with possible jobs sourced from various jobs databases, based on a match of the student’s criteria and profile

The focus of TOOOPLE’s platform is to provide students the ability to super-charge their academic journey by investing in advanced learning and collaborating with domain/technical experts (mentors) to solve complex problems in the IT industry and jump start their way to a successful global career.
Some students may opt to do it specially with overseas academic institutions. TOOOPLE’s JobMatch provides a platform for the student to match their job preferences and profile with jobs sourced from various industry leading Jobs Databases.

Product Features

a. It is a cloud-based record (perpetual) of the student’s progress made from the time they sign-on as TOOOPLE customers; It includes their work done during the virtual project development phase with project scope, the technologies used, progress made during the projects with mentor’s feedback and complete project documentation. b. The student may opt to include their past academic record and resume to showcase to potential employers.

a. It aims to prepare students/participants to be Job Ready by providing high quality projects, curated content and access to mentors with industry experience.

The mini projects are geared for CSE/IT students in the 6th semester (3rd yr) or during summer before the students’ progress to their final year of undergraduate studies. Improved problem solving skills through academic and Mini-Projects should help students fare better during campus interviews.

The goal of Major-Projects is to assist students in developing solutions for complex IT problems with the support from mentors. It will be done along the lines suggested by the college but with an experienced industry expert.

Faculty members of institutions have to initially enroll with the TOOOPLE program by paying an annual membership fee; this provides them access to virtual technical seminars and industry content.

Currently, students should be attached to an educational/technical institution and are expected to be fluent in written English. In some cases, the mentor will put their best efforts to support the students in their local languages during mentoring sessions only.

It is recommended that students form their own project groups or be assigned one, by the participating institution.

Yes, TOOOPLE’s projects can be treated as college projects with the associated credit allocation upon completion. Students are also advised to check with the concerned department to reconfirm.

Students must first enroll into SmartStart through the TOOOPLE site www.tooople.com. Subsequently, payment should be made by the entire group (Normally, group of 4 or 5 or 8) before the stipulated date for project commencement. Once payment (from all students in all groups) is processed, the mentor will be assigned, and instructions for infrastructure set up will be intimated.

a. The institution should give access to students from respective classes for technical sessions and support TOOOPLE for enrollments.
b. Governance in forming the groups and first level issues & resolutions within a group.

The Head of Department and student coordinator/Dean will be engaged to support the students at a grassroots level. These points of contact will also act as the interface between students, computer labs, mentors and TOOOPLE management.

Your academic institution has to become a member of TOOOPLE Academy through an annual membership to start the initiative, unless it’s waived by TOOOPLE’s management in writing. It's preferred that the institution collects the fee from the students to pay TOOOPLE before the projects commence.

Academic institutions will inform the relevant groups with group formation rules and the domains for project work. The TOOOPLE mentors will assign the projects based on the availability in its inventory or create a new project with detailed specifications.

Mentor Specific Questions

Experienced professionals from the industry in a specific domain will be allocated to each group.

Based on requirements in the enrolment form, TOOOPLE will identify a mentor to be assigned. We recommend, students choose technologies that are industry mature, robust and are in-demand amongst companies and recruiters.

The domain will be determined by the college and scope will be determined by the mentor and the project leader.

Students/mentors will be using
 i. Collaborative tools such as Zoom/Teams/Slack for calls and chats during live interaction.
 ii. Emails are also recommended in the event that students and mentors need to get in touch with each other outside of scheduled virtual sessions.

Yes – your mentor will be accessible outside of scheduled sessions through email correspondence.

The affected group should formally reach-out to TOOOPLE before the 3rd virtual session, to be assigned a new mentor. The entire group should demonstrate that the mentor is not effective.

The group leader will take the responsibility to support the absent team members. Else, the absent students should contact the mentor by email to schedule catch up sessions.

Yes – the mentors will be available via email to assist the students with any project related queries.

The students’ institutions or students with the HOD’s permission.

The mentor will work with the group leader, distribute the project work and will subsequently update the details in the TOOOPLE e-Portfolio.

b. For Mini projects: 5 – 8 students per group
c. Major projects: 4 Students per group

Yes, it is preferred to have all the students to collaborate from within the same class to increase synergy within the group.

Students must follow a group schedule as determined by all group members and the mentor.

TOOOPLE's mentor will decide, based on ePortfolio recordings and the grading will be finalised by the mentor/Professor from the institution.

90% attendance is a must, to get any certificate. This will be validated by mentor from TOOOPLE and the project team leader.

a. Yes, for Major Projects and Mentor supported internships b. For Mini-Projects, access to the ePortfolio will be given to companies short-listed by TOOOPLE. TOOOPLE will encourage mentors to support the students on projects, as well as provide guidance, to appear for any vendor certification.

Computer Infrastructure

Access to a functional standard Desktop/Laptop with 4GB+ RAM is preferred. However, there are no specifications for hardware models as it’s project dependent and projects are done locally and uploaded on cloud environment. In addition, students would need a functional Microphone/speakers/Video Camera for groups; additionally a headset, if attending publicly. The students must keep all the other devices like TV etc.. on mute to avoid echo.

Strong 4G (minimum) uninterrupted internet access is required at the institution or regular home internet access with complete power back-up.

The affected students will need to work with the group leader and the mentor to address issues. TOOOPLE will make all efforts to give access to the recorded version of the session to be able to catch-up. For email support, the members should use a group email-id that is created on the first day of the session.

Usage guidelines

In this context, a session that is conducted live, by project experts to guide a group of students using internet infrastructure and a collaborative tool like Zoom/MS Teams/Slack/Google Hangouts. The virtual session is a scheduled interactive session for an hour, twice a week, unless the team requests longer and more frequent sessions.

Group members can use external collaborative tools like Zoom, MS Teams, Slack, Google Hangouts which will send alerts to all team members and the mentor. A simple document on virtual sessions will be provided after group enrollments.

Yes –recorded sessions will be available to students till the project cycle is completed.

Try using the recorded session with the help of your assigned project leader to catch up on missed information.

Six (6) months. After this duration, the project data will be purged from TOOOPLE’s database, the student can obtain and keep as record before it expires. The group will be the owner of the code, but TOOOPLE will have the right to reuse any code for academic purposes. In case of paid internships by a company, students must follow that company’s policies regarding code, since they supersede TOOOPLE’s policies.

 i. Mini Project: 6 to 8 Weeks (10 contact hours)
 ii. Major/Macro Projects: 16 Weeks (25 hours contact hours) including any expert sessions on technology or HR sessions.

Payment needs to be collected by Group leader from each student. It can be paid preferably by Chq, Credit Card or Wire transfer instructions. Cash will be accepted in exceptional cases. On-line payment through PayPal gateway will be provided too. All the taxes and transfer costs need to be absorbed by the student/group.

All efforts will be made to provide a receipt within 24 hrs., subject to clearance of the instrument.

Yes, 90% for Mini Project and 85% for Major/Mentored Virtual Internships.

It will be treated on a case by case basis and the final decision will be made by the Project leader and mentor. TOOOPLE's decision in consultation with the institution will be final.

Yes, the student may get a participation certificate after getting approval from the Head of the Department; the fee will not be refunded.

Individual performance will be evaluated on the work done by them during the week. The parameters are:
1) Quality of coding
2) Individual contribution
3) Collaborative efforts
4) Working of links
5) Time spent during mentoring session with quality interaction
6) Innovation
7) Desired output
8) Documentation.

There will be placement assistance for students through the JobMatch system where the companies are encouraged to enroll with TOOOPLE to recruit talent. However, students should not construe this as a guaranteed service.
